"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2; NASB
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that equips and empowers lay caregivers to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
WHAT IS A STEPHEN MINISTER?
Stephen Ministers are laypeople—Christian men and women—trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment.
Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life. Their commonality? A passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Stephen Ministers are trained by their congregation’s Stephen Leaders. The 50 hour training course you will receive will equip you to provide high-quality care to people who are hurting. After the training, your Stephen Leader will connect you with a Care Receiver to begin meeting with.
Care Receivers are people—congregation members and others in the community—who receive care from a Stephen Minister. If you are struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, going through a divorce, recovering from a job loss, suffering from chronic or terminal illness, or walking through some other life crisis, let us connect you with a Stephen Minister to help you through this difficult time.
